Sigmat team up with Ogilvie Construction to complete Luxury West End Apartments
The Sigmat team completed works on the luxury 108 apartment block in Glasgow’s West End. The six-storey scheme features apartments and penthouses, ranging in size from one, two and three bedrooms.
The Sigmat team worked on 2 phases and installed a total of 5,426 linear metres of internal and external wall panels. Phase 2 which was completed mid November 2020, consisted of 6 storeys, 250 plasterboard packs and 40 flights of stairs in a 24 week on site programme. The Sigmat team completed the install 7 weeks earlier than the 31 week contract.
The luxury apartment’s architecture echoes the height and feel of nearby traditional sandstone buildings and crescents, while planting will frame around both sides of the south block and flow through the centre, creating leafy spaces for recreation and a place for residents to relax in the heart of the city.
Sigmat’s Contract Manager, Stephen Parker commented on the success of the scheme, “We have worked closely with Ogilvie Construction on a number of high-profile projects now.”
“Through early engagement with our design team they were able to take advantage of the benefits LGSF can bring to a scheme like Minerva Street and I’m delighted to announce that the team completed the LGSF structure 7 weeks ahead of programme, demonstrating the significant advantage of offsite modern methods of construction”.
