Out with the old and in with the new in Altrincham Sigmat has helped deliver a £30 million regeneration boost to Altrincham. The new mixed use (retail and residential) scheme replaced a tired 1960s development bringing a new supermarket, new retail space and luxury apartments to boost the local economy with the creation of 100 jobs. The retail part of the project comprised of five single storey retail units and a separate 2,700m² Booths supermarket with associated storage and delivery areas.

The residential accommodation comprises of 24 two and three bedroom high specification luxury apartments over three levels above the retail units.

By working offsite to construct the light gauge steel frame for the building superstructure, Sigmat was able to meticulously plan the onsite build programme to avoid disruption of a key main road leading to anchester airport and to existing businesses and residents.

In addition this planning enabled on site build of the apartments to run efficiently in tandem with the internal fit out of the supermarket. By manufacturing and assembling the light gauge steel frame offsite significant health and safety issues were avoided on site with a short installation window incorporated into the build programme.
