Sigmat appointed by J Tomlinson or the 7-storey Velocity Ibis Budget Hotel in the centre of Sheffield. The hotel, designed by Whittam Cox Architects, features a coffee shop, and parking spaces on the ground floor. The 126 bed Ibis Budget Hotel forms part of the larger velocity Tower Development.
Sigmat were appointed to provide the light gauge steel frame structure. The project which took 14 weeks on site included a total of 1,710 linear metres of panels and 120 bathroom pods.
The project was a huge success, demonstrating once again the advantage of engaging offsite methods for tight city centre spots. I’m delighted that our design & site teams collaborated closely with the client ensuring delivery and erection on site were achieved on time once again. I look forward to working on our next hotel project.
