Sigmat secure Centenary Quay, Phase 3 with Willmott Dixon Construction
Sigmat are pleased to announce that we have secured the design manufacture and construction of the Light Gauge Steel SIGMAT superstructure on Centenary Quay, Phase 3 in Southampton with Willmott Dixon Construction.
A light gauge solution was the first choice for both Crest Nicholson the developer and their design team.
Following months of design development in close partnership with Willmott Dixon's design and contract teams, enabling works are now well underway to provide shell and core supermarket, retail units and three six storey residential buildings to afford 102 new apartments with associated landscaping and an underground car park.
This project is on the eastern bank of the River Ichen, in the Woolston suburb of Southampton and is considered one of southern England’s most ambitious regeneration projects.
The £500m Centenary Quay mixed-use development will play a central role in revitalising the area, creating over 1000 jobs for local people and bringing homes, community facilities and commercial outlets.
Sigmat were chosen over rival systems thanks to our vast experience and knowledge of Light Gauge Steel frames on projects with complex geometry, another contributing factor was our continued commitment to innovation and improvements in buildability of our system. Along with our comprehensive tender package, including detailed structural design and cost advice.
These attributes are amongst the many we pride ourselves on providing to all our customers.
We look forward to a fruitful long term relationship with Willmott Dixon Construction!
