Sigmat secure another project in Bath City center
Sigmat are pleased to announce we have secured the Manufacture and installation of the student accommodation Blocks at Twerton Mill in Bath with Midas Construction Ltd
The project as a whole comprises of the Erection of student accommodation comprising 279 student bedrooms in studio/cluster flats and 50 student bedrooms in 7 No. townhouses (329 bedrooms in total),
Sigmat System which has been developed over the last 5 years is a fully engineered light gauge steel structure inclusive of Concrete floors/ stairs and lift shafts capable of heights up to 14 stories, suitable for all types of housing, apartments, Hotels, schools and hospitals and Student accommodation
Our structures progress at 50% the time required for traditional masonry construction the light weight nature of the system saves costs in the ground and offers real value against budget in comparison with other methods of construction.
Our scope of work typically includes internal and external load bearing walls constructed from 100mm thin gauge pre-galvanized steel 'C' sections at 600mm centres, with the external walls pre-boarded off-site with both insulation and brick tie channel or a calcium silicate sheathing board, dependent upon the external façade treatment, reinforced concrete composite metal deck floors, lift shafts, pre-fabricated steel stairs and roof decking. All window and door structural openings are pre-formed in the panels.
Where a podium structure is required to accommodate commercial mixed use space or public circulation space we can design supply and install this structure along with a reinforced concrete transfer slab giving a seamless interface between systems.
