New Project Secured - Hampton-by-Hilton Nuneaton
Sigmat have secured the contract for the upcoming Hampton-by-Hilton in Nuneaton for client BAM. As part of a major regeneration project for the local area, the new hotel located on Abbey Street, contributes to the government’s initiative to reshape town centres making them more desirable places to live and stay.
The 7-storey 145-bed hotel marks the first joint project for BAM with Sigmat. Looking to utilise LGSF, BAM selected Sigmat due to the systems lightweight and speed credentials. With an average of 20-40% quicker than traditional building methods, and an impressive lightweight structure meaning reduced foundations, LGSF is quickly becoming the mainstream building method of choice.
Steve Blows, Contracts Manager at Sigmat, commented on the upcoming project “This is our first engagement with BAM and it is progressing as planned. The design process has been very smooth allowing the BAM team to realise real opportunity with the LGSF build method. Collectively we are seeing benefits in healthy collaboration with BAM and we look forward to seeing the on-site element progress.”
The Sigmat team are due on site in early May 2023 with a projected 19 week programme. The team will deliver 6 levels of LGSF on top of an RC transfer structure, with a total GIFA 5,190m2, and an impressive 6,397m of Sigmat panels.
