Some of the Sigmat Pre-Contracts Division attended Focus on Framing at the Building Centre in London yesterday. The event brought together over 150 delegates from businesses interested and associated with light gauge steel and those supporting the industry.
With informative talks from the likes of Kier Group, NHBC and Global Architectural Practice, Chapman Taylor, the event gave insight to how top tier contractors are beginning to embrace Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). With many talks highlighting what we already know to be true; offsite light gauge steel framing has a host of benefits with programme surety and speed of build being a main advantage.
Sigmat’s Head of Business Development, David Ellison presented alongside Willmott Dixon’s Paul Burchell about the joint upcoming Perry Barr redevelopment scheme in Birmingham. Sigmat & Willmott Dixon will be working on 4 blocks across plots 8 & 9 with a rapid 25-week programme, demonstrating one of the major benefits of offsite construction.
As a new attendee to events like this, it was incredibly useful to gain industry insights and hear from the people supporting our industry. It was a great chance to meet people face-to-face who you otherwise might only email and speak to on the phone. A great opportunity to develop these relationship. I look forward to attending the next event.
