Feb 2018 - New residential scheme

05/02/2018

The UK's leading provider of offsite light gauge steel framing, Sigmat is set to start installing on site at Waterfront Avenue phase of the Granton Waterfront residential scheme in Edinburgh by developer Places for People.

Contractors Allenbuild Limited appointed Sigmat to design, manufacture, assemble and install the light gauge steel frame for two, seven storey apartment blocks made up of 30 and 37 one, two and three bedroom apartments.

The development on Waterfront Avenue forms the second phase of a planned larger scheme of around 600 homes

Light gauge steel frame is an ideal structural solution for residential developments. As an offsite technology, it enables projects to eliminate risk, save time and deliver a more rapid return on investment. We expect to complete the light gauge steel frame this spring, therefore being onsite for a significantly shorter period of time than in a traditional residential build.

The contemporary style and character of the phase two building and townhouses have been designed to sit comfortably within the surrounding area. Landscaping will also ensure that there is green space for residents to enjoy.
